Peachy & Peaceful
Carol turned 27, and what better way of her choosing to celebrate than a trip to the peachy state of Georgia! Cue Justin Bieber's song, "Peaches." 324 jetted off on a plane ride for a weekend getaway together for the first time ever in our decade + long friendship, which is wild. We can add traveling buddies to our friendship resume now.
Abby and Carol love the town of Roswell, GA and can envision themselves settling down there. I fell in love with this area too. The only way I can describe downtown Roswell is it is straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel. It is one of my new favorite destinations. Downtown Roswell is filled with wonderful coffee shops, restaurants, stores, and businesses. Each business is a dainty house along the road – just as if you were walking in a neighborhood, but transformed into stunning businesses once you enter inside.
Georgia has some memorable food too. Highlights include Warm Waves and Crazy Love for coffee, and Vin25, Gracious Plenty, Fellows Cafe, Osteria Mattone, Crust, and Queenie's BBQ for food. Stay tuned for a TikTok video I'll be posting about all the food I ate on this trip. Travel tip for Georgia: If there is pimento cheese of any kind on the menu, get it! You'll thank me later.
Carol and Abby showed me around all of their favorite spots amongst all the local towns. We ate so much tasty food, shopped until we dropped, and got to meet up and enjoy some time with friends, Sven (Carol's brother) and Sarah (Sven's girlfriend) who relocated to Georgia this year.
It was a quick yet wonderful and eventful weekend trip celebrating Carol! Our final hours of the trip consisted of some spontaneous sight-seeing of filming locations from the show, Stranger Things. Abby and Carol got me hooked on watching it once I moved to Florida, so seeing the spots in real life was such a surreal experience. We also ordered a full pizza from Crust, their favorite local pizza shop. Coming from the reviews of two pizza lovers, you know it has to be the real deal, and it certainly was! The most wild thought we had was to see if we could bring the entire pizza through TSA at the airport. We weren't sure if it would fit through the security conveyer belt, but it was worth trying, and a story to tell regardless. I got separated into a different line for security, and got out before Abby and Carol did. I was waiting to see what the result would be, and low and behold, I spotted Abby walking towards me with the pizza box in hand, and ready to eat. Mission accomplished! This is confirmation that you can in fact take a full pizza through TSA – LOL. Abby said the TSA attendant looked at her as she was placing the box onto the belt and goes, "A whole pizza? Girl, good for you!"
I highly recommend putting the quaint, peaceful, hidden gem of a town of Roswell, GA on your travel list. I am already looking to book a trip back!
Stay peachy everyone!
