Nash Nights

Howdy y'all! It was my first time traveling to Nashville and Tennessee in general. It was also my first trip of 2024, which kicked off the year in such a great manner. Shoutout to Hannah for giving me such awesome recommendations for this trip. My bestie Jess's boyfriend Will turned 30 and we celebrated his birthday in southern fashion! One of our Uber drivers mentioned January is a slow month for the bustling city, but it was perfect because there were less crowds, and we got to experience all that Nashville had to offer.

Highlights of the trip include:

  1. Staying at this gorgeous 4-floor AirBnB

  2. Touring the Country Music Hall of Fame

  3. Touring the Johnny Cash museum (I learned he had a strong faith background, which I enjoyed discovering)

  4. Touring the Willie Nelson museum

  5. Touring backstage of the Grand Ole Opry and Acuff House. I got teary eyed when the tour guide played a video montage of multiple singers being invited and asked to become the next member of the Grand Ole Opry. Seeing the reactions of people whose dreams came true was so heartwarming. I learned so much on this tour and just how special and what an honor it is to be inducted as a member.

  6. Sneaking around the grocery store with Jess trying to buy Will a birthday cake without him noticing

  7. Trying Nashville hot chicken at Hattie B's

  8. Will being approached and mistaken for country singer and songwriter, Hardy

  9. Hearing incredible live musicians and bands perform at each restaurant and bar on Broadway

  10. Eating dinner at the front of the stage at Florida Georgia Line's FGL House rooftop bar and pub while seeing Abbie Callahan perform, who was on The Voice and American Idol. Her rendition of "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton was wonderful.

  11. Watching endearing couples dance beautifully all night long at Hank Williams Jr Boogie Bar

  12. Spending my final morning alone in Nashville as my flight left later than everyone else. I got breakfast at Biscuit Love and shopped at Kittenish – Jessie James Decker's boutique. I have been a loyal fan of hers since she released her song "Wanted" in 2009. It was so surreal to get to shop at her stylish storefront.

I traveled with go-to travel crew – the Pascucci sisters, and am so glad I was able to join along on this trip to celebrate Will entering a new decade of his life. I also got to meet his brother and his fiancé. Many laughs, smiles, good conversations, and newly created memories were shared together. Getting to enjoy delicious southern food, dress in southern fashion, and be welcomed by southern hospitality all around was enjoyable.

I thrived wearing cowgirl boots, stylish clothes, crimped hair, and a wide brimmed hat. See below for a photo of me in that outfit. Check out my Instagram post that contains more photos from the trip through this link: https://www.instagram.com/p/C2i4EN1raLn/?img_index=1

When I previously worked as a recruiter, one of my coworkers was shocked to learn I was from New Hampshire because I didn't have that hard-hitting New England personality. Instead he pegged me for a Southern Belle from Tennessee. I took it as a compliment, and truly do imagine I could fit in well in the charming southern environment.

Jess and I are already excited to go back to Nashville during peak season, and get to try out different spots we jotted down for our next return. Overall, the energy on Broadway is so inviting, and the live musicians are wildly talented. Nashville has my heart, and I highly encourage you to book a trip there soon!
