Magical Memories
This past week was one for the books! It was jam-packed with some of my most favorite friends. Two of my best friends, Haley and Abby turned 27 on back to back days. I have never missed celebrating Haley's birthday, so it was difficult being apart from her, but cannot wait until I see her next.
Our friend Cara flew down to celebrate and surprise Abby, which was awesome! We kicked off Abby’s birthday with a stunning sunrise at the beach and finished it off at the beach for sunset with pizza, star and planet gazing, and followed by making a birthday wish on a Crumbl cookie. Cara got to experience our Florida oasis and bask in the sun this week. I cannot wait until she comes back and visits us at 324!
I met my friend Kathleen and her friend Ashley out in Miami for their girls trip to celebrate Ashley’s birthday. I love meeting new people, and Ashley was so much fun. We uncovered that I worked with her aunt for years, which is such a small world! This was my first night out in Miami, FL since moving down here, and it was a blast. I am a chameleon and can adapt in all environments. I love my peaceful paradise life, but also love a fun night out. There is just something about Miami that is magical. We had outstanding service and dinner at A Fish Called Avalon, which is known for their award winning seafood. Kathleen convinced me to try some oysters, and I loved them! I am a fellow New Englander who has gone this long without trying oysters, and am so happy I did. Kathleen and I split the seafood paella for 2, which was so indulgent and tasty, and now has me so excited for Spain this summer. I highly recommend that everyone dines there if they visit South Beach. The birthday celebration lasted all night and morning long. We mingled, danced, and laughed until we crawled into bed at 5:30am. The memories made will forever be talked about. I call that a night well spent in Miami, and I cannot wait to go back! Catch Kathleen and I with our friends in Europe this summer!
The weekend wrapped up wonderfully as I met Abby, Carol, Hannah, Barbara, and Cara in Miami on Sunday afternoon. We visited the Magentaverse exhibit at Artechouse. It was an incredible and immersive experience filled with various displays and interactions that incorporate the Pantone Color of the Year 2023, which is Viva Magenta. I was in awe and captivated in every room. Pictured below is one of my favorite rooms in the exhibit. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in Wynwood – Bartaco. They have the most scrumptiously glazed pork belly tacos. It is a must try if you are in the Miami area. I am also an ice cream fanatic, and Abby and Carol introduced Cara and I to Whit’s Frozen Custard in Delray Beach, FL over the weekend. If you think you love soft-serve ice cream, just wait until you try frozen custard! It is creamy and so yummy!
I am so incredibly blessed to have such fantastic friends that make life so special in any given moment. I got to try out many new places in Florida, and have added them to my list of favorites for those who come visit me or need travel recommendations!
Wishing you a sunshine-filled week, and sending warmth to all of my New England family and friends!
