Let Your Joy Be Contagious

Happy first official week of March! 2022 is flying by so quickly already. Let’s dive into the theme of joy this week. My wonderful friend, Allie Schnacky, emulates and radiates joy and positivity. Recently, I moved teams at work and my former teammates surprised me with a send-off presentation with anonymous thoughtful messages about me. There was an overwhelming sense of emotion as the messages were being read aloud. One message that one of my teammates wrote that ties perfectly into today’s theme is:

“If Jess were a Disney Pixar character, she would be “Joy!” She exudes positivity and kindness always. I don’t think I’ve ever heard one negative thing from Jess. She has such a great way of communicating with and building up those around her. I’m excited to see Jess bring her joy to this new team, and have no doubt she is going to play a key role in helping to bring them together as one cohesive team.”

This is one of the many heartfelt messages that I received. I am blown away by the intentionality and thoughtfulness each teammate put out for me. I am beyond blessed to be surrounded by such fantastic individuals. For those of you who have never watched the Disney Pixar movie “Inside Out,” the main character named, Joy, is such a joyful and empathetic character. I am humbled to be viewed as joyous, as I always strive to spread positivity towards everyone around me.

To be joyful is a choice. How you carry and view yourself is how you will be perceived. To spread joy and happiness requires inner peace, love, and kindness within yourself first. You are in control of your emotions and actions, so take the time to be intentional in all that you do. Bring light into this world, and spread smiles everywhere you go. Let your joy be endlessly contagious!
