Holly Jolly Hostesses

Abby, Carol, and I hosted a holiday get together with a group of our close Florida friends this weekend. The holidays bring me so much joy, and we were all so proud of the turn-out. Pictured below are Abby, Carol, and I – the holly jolly hostesses of 324!

We played a white elephant/yankee swap which is always a crowd favorite. The intensity and laughter that occurred during the established rules of the game and attempts of swapping gifts was hysterical to watch and experience.

“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.” ― Charles Dickens from A Christmas Carol

The main theme of the night was that our guests were encouraged to bring a platter of cookies and later leave with an assortment of cookies following the cookie swap. I love baking, and was so excited that everyone took part in sharing some delicious treats. We baked all day long at 324 leading up to the party, and we all joked that there was no need to light a festive holiday scented candle because the apartment smelled like freshly baked cookies for hours. Check out my Instagram and TikTok accounts for a video of the décor and cookies from the evening. I baked Christmas Gooey Butter Cookies and the recipe can be found through this link: https://dearcrissy.com/christmas-gooey-butter-cookies/ They were incredibly simple to make, and so light and tasty. I am certainly making this a recurring treat over the holiday seasons to come!

Seeing everyone enjoy themselves warmed my heart up. Noticing the joy pour out of those that mean so much to me while recognizing that we all took the time to gather and celebrate the holiday season together was priceless. I hope you take the time to wrap up the rest of the year spending time with those who matter most to you if you are able to. This time of year can become incredibly stressful, busy, overwhelming, etc. I find myself usually stretching my time too thin amongst various plans. I do hope you get to ravel in the merriness of the season by remembering the true meaning of Christmas. If you are unable to spend time with your loved ones or friends this year, focus on connecting to your inner joy, which greatly matters. You are so loved, and I wish you all such a safe and healthy season for all who celebrate the holidays, and those who do not.
