Hello 2022!
Cheers to the first Monday of 2022! How did you spend your New Year’s? I had a terrific time spending it with family and friends! I started the day walking along the beach and because it was cold, not many people were out. Watching the waves crash brings so much peace over me. My friend also got married on New Year’s Eve, and my family and I were able to join in and celebrate her special day all the way up to the clock striking midnight to ring in the new year.
“I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22.” – Taylor Swift lyrics from her song “22”
As 2022 kicks off, it is time to break old habits and patterns that did not serve us in 2021, and level up in this new year. Have you set any goals or new year resolutions yet? We can agree that we can always eat healthier, drink more water, and get in better shape, but I want to challenge you to think outside the box and set creative intentions this year.
Some of my goals include:
1. Make a new recipe every week.
2. Read and listen to new self-motivation books and podcasts
3. Journal weekly
4. Set weekly time aside for self-care
5. Spend less screen time on my phone at night
6. Shop at local businesses more often
7. Expand my music library by finding new songs from different cultures and genres
8. Compliment a stranger when I go out in public
9. Clean out my closet more often to donate items
10. Tip 100% on a restaurant bill
Let’s hold each other accountable! Whether it is your family, friends, or coworkers, be intentional with encouraging others to be a better version of themselves with each day that passes.
Take risks this year. Move somewhere different. Travel to new states or countries. Try a new coffee shop or restaurant. Whatever this year brings, spread love everywhere you go. I have a wonderful feeling about 2022, and I hope you do too!
Remember to stay humble and kind, always!
