Be a Butterfly

The pressure to be perfect is a heavy weight that a lot of us have carried at one point or another. I have had moments where I have tried my very best at something, but have fallen short and blamed myself knowing that I could have done better. You are your own worst critic, yet you do not give yourself enough credit for how far you have come or how hard you have tried.

I have grown to view failure and disappointments as blessings in disguise that inspire me to want to do better. Setbacks are inevitable because no one’s life is perfect. There will always be opportunities for growth and improvement. If you do not like how your first attempt at something went, then guess what? You can give yourself another chance and give it your best shot a second-time around.

“If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” – William Edward Hickson

How you handle failure is a true representation of your character. Shift your thoughts from a negative mindset to a motivational one. Strive to be the best version of you, and choose to improve your life despite any obstacles that you encounter. Acknowledge and face the issues head-on and you will surprise yourself along the way by discovering that you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Life is truly a journey, and everyone’s paths are different. You must navigate all that comes your way in hopes of succeeding and reaching your dreams. Things not going your way can be emotionally draining, and quite honestly discouraging at times. However, I have learned to focus on what I can control and not what I can’t.

I believe that God’s plan is so much grander than I can even imagine, which is why when we find our purpose and calling in life, we should never give up on it. Few people land their dream job early on in life. It is the journey that you take to reach your goals and aspirations that make life exciting. There will be twists, turns, and obstacles in your way, but the destination will be so worth it. Life is far from easy, and encountering disappointments is a part of the process, but I encourage you to embrace the current season that you are in. Facing adversity and growing from it will strengthen your ability to rise above, and transform into a better you.

“If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.” – Wendy Mass

Surround yourself with a strong support system. When the going gets tough, or you find yourself struggling, reach out to those who have your best intentions. I lean on my friends and family for encouragement. Just know that you have me in your support corner, and my DM’s are always open to be a listening ear. You are so strong and loved. Be sure to embrace change, transform your mindset, and channel your inner butterfly.

Remember to stay humble and kind, always!
